I want to get a dog -- a golden retriever, ideally; or a yellow lab would do -- and name her Ramoth.

Then I want to get a kitten, and name her Lessa.

And then I want to teach the kitten to ride around on the back of the dog.

(Time-traveling capability a bonus, but not required.)

Kittens get big, as compared proportionately to dogs: what you want is a *parrot.* Then you can teach it to say things like "F'lar is a douche!" and much merriment will be had by all.

golden retrievers make the best pets on the planet in my opinion and ours have let children try to ride without a fuss so I can't imagine that a kitten (or anything else) would be an issue!

Funny. In the car, regaling my eldest daughter with tales from 6 years ago, the night before she was born, I was forced to answer the question "What would have named me if I was a boy?"

Charles Wallace. (No, really). And now I'm trying to imagine what animal I need to acquire to bear the name. We named our last dog Miles (after Miles Vorkosigan), which sort of doomed the puppy to be an uncontrollable hellion that we were forced to give up.

As you said...ability to tesseract would be a bonus.
