Date: 2007-07-26 04:58 am (UTC)We quit going to movies in the theater at least 4 years ago (maybe more) because my s.o. could no longer stand the audiences, so haven't seen the trailer, but you really summed up what I most liked about that book and the series (and like you, I read The Dark is Rising first, and it was always my favorite, though I also loved The Grey King; the rest were good but just didn't work nearly as well for me).
