encapsulating the shutdown

I have no words around the rage this induces in me:

“We’re not going to be disrespected,” conservative Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind., [told the Washington Examiner]. “We have to get something out of this. And I don’t know what that even is.”

My suggestion would the "something" be "a long walk off a short pier," but I am willing to consider alternatives.
