. . . we just bought a house.

Well, properly speaking, we just had an offer accepted for a house. There are still lots of ways this could theoretically fall through (inspections turn up something bad, etc), but . . . we just offered an absurd amount of money for a house, and the seller accepted.

. . . because buying a house when you’re trying to finish novel revisions and write a novella and go on an international trip is a great idea.

Also, would you like some moving boxes? We have many freshly-unpacked ones, including many banker boxes for carting books in. And also a hand truck that I'd be happy to loan out, because many years ago I got tired of paying U-Haul a quarter the cost of one to rent one for a day.

Edit for your addition: We would LOVE some moving boxes, if you don't mind holding onto them for a month or so until we actually take possession of the place. (Nowhere to put them right now, or I'd take them off your hands.) Also the loan of the hand truck.

Well, it's only been a couple of months in the new place; even if we did get rid of the ones we've unpacked so far, there would be more. :) But, yes, I'm happy to hold onto them for you.

I did things the other way. In the middle of getting my newly bought house painted and moved into, I got a new job and met my future husband. Life is what happens when you're making other plans.
