Absent With Leave

Normally I remember to mention this more than 24 hours before I depart, but: I’m going on vacation. :-D

My husband and I are going to Venice for a few days, followed by a cruise to Barcelona, stopping in Dubrovnik (home of many locations you might recognize from Game of Thrones — I’m looking forward to taking photos), Kotor, Corfu, Naples (saw Pompeii last time, so we’re gonna go to Herculaneum, eeeeee), Rome (bring on the Etruscan necropolis!), Florence, Monte Carlo, and St. Tropez. Three weeks door-to-door, and most of it the lovely laid-back relaxing kind of vacation you get when you’re on a cruise ship.

I will not have internet access for most of that time, so if you send me an email, don’t expect a very rapid reply. :-) When I get back, I hope to have some exciting publishing-related news to share with you all . . . .

You're partly responsible for that decision, actually. It came down to a choice between Ostia and the necropolis; you'd been posting recently about something Etruscan, and I figured, hey, I've seen a lot of Roman stuff already.

Really, the more accurate phrasing would be for me to have said "I have exciting publishing news I hope to be able to share with you guys when I get back." There's usually a lag between Things Happening and Things Becoming Public. :-)

I often wonder, when I hear to share....I think pizza.

.....maybe I need to get out more....then again there is, similar to your own predicament, a lag between ordering and the delivery of pizza....

......so if publishing was a typo for pizza... then.....however I digress.....what I meant was - no need to keep us on edge of seats, when the publishing news is fully cooked and ready to come out of oven we will all get a slice, but, until then, pay us nattering ninnys no heed....go forth (or fifth in your tour group or in line to see grottos or sea delights) and relax and enjoy and spark with fire the muse which brings writing unto the masses grateful.

....pizza or no pizza, of course...
