A Year in Pictures – Island and Tree

I believe this was the last photo I took on our recent trip to Hawaii, a split second before my camera’s battery died. Memory tells me there’s some local folklore about that tiny island (which lies off the coast of Oahu); it does not oblige me by recalling what the folklore was. I did like the framing of this shot, though.

Gorgeous! I like how the green leaves echo the green grass, and likewise the blue of the sky and the ocean.

This is lovely - both on my desktop where the light setting is so low that the picture is almost black-and-white, and here on my laptop where I can properly see the green. I especiall like the blue ribbon of the ocean.

Yeah, my desktop screen turns it almost into a silhouette, while my laptop screen shows a lot more of the color and detail. It's one of the tough things about photo editing: I'm never entirely certain how it will look to other people, because monitor settings can affect things so much.
