good starts to a D&D game

My first roll of the entire campaign: natural 20.

My first roll in combat: confirmed crit.

Our first kill: a (young) green dragon.

Our first loot: omgawesome.


I love killing dragons. ^_^

You're using up all my luck. My first D&D campaign in high school began with a critical fumble and sort of continued from there.

My most successful character to date is my current one, a spellthief who has actually been optimized for rerolling.

Look, in the surprise round that dragon nearly killed three of the five members in our party by breathing acid all over them. I don't feel terribly sorry for the dragon.

On the other hand, you may have answered your own question. If your reaction is "poor dragon!," then a "kill it and take its stuff" game may not be for you. <g>
