I stood for bloody ever at the railing above this sunken area, waiting for a gap in which to photograph this pair without somebody else in the picture. (In fact, I didn’t quite succeed; fortunately, the person who started walking into frame as I took the photo could easily be cropped out.) I loved the foreground/background juxtaposition — even if horse-head sculptures always do make me think of the Mafia . . . .

They're in the Louvre -- I think near the entrance to the old medieval castle ruins.

I'm in Yellowstone and Grand Teton right now, and this is my experience at... everything.

Those are some cool horses. Love the uglyfying details they've got.

Yeah, I am forever trying to take photos without people in them. This time of year where you are, I imagine it's impossible, unless you're photographing a distant mountain.

It's actually pretty early for Yellowstone so it'd be possible, if I felt like waiting. But since my grandparents probably don't want to wait and we're kinda limited to seeing the big features (no back country and no long walks because my grandmother doesn't have the best mobility), I was more interested in photographing the big crowds and tourist spectacle over the natural wonders. Which I got too, admittedly.

I took a video of Old Faithful and I was fascinated by all the people chattering away. It was kind of like a satire about the commercialization and easily consumed packaging of nature. I appreciate how easy Yellowstone makes it to see things (because not everyone can go backpacking) but it was... weird.
