However long y’all have been waiting for this book, I think it was even longer for me. :-P But at last all our impatience is rewarded, for The Tropic of Serpents is out today!

It’s ended up on several “anticipated books coming out soon” lists, which I have to admit makes me exceedingly pleased: Ranting Dragon, BuzzFeed, Kirkus, and at least one other I’ve misplaced. If you are looking to obtain your very own copy, I’ve got a list of places you may buy it without leaving your chair (though this note about buying from a store does still apply).

And now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go treat myself to a nice lunch . . . and maybe also a visit to the local B&N, to make sure it’s on the shelf/pester them to put it there if it’s not. ;-)

Yay, more Isabella!

Kind of offtopic question: is there going to be a paperback edition of With Fate Conspire at some point? I finished the third one in that series recently and have been really enjoying them, and the cover art says all kinds of nifty things about the probable plot. :) (If the answer is no, I can read it from the library, but ideally I'd like to own a copy.)

I wonder, as a reader, how I could purchase this book so that you would realize the greatest gain? Do you see a difference in earnings, for example, if I purchase it from Amazon or B&N or independent-store or internet-site?

No substantial direct effect on my earnings, no -- I get a percentage of the price, which varies slightly depending on whether it's being sold at a discount or what have you, but ultimately the difference there is quite small. Buying from an actual store, though, as opposed to online, helps ensure that they'll continue stocking my books there . . . which has a knock-on benefit of making it more likely that somebody browsing the shelves will see my work and pick it up. Which is why I usually say that buying from a physical store is better for authors than online purchases.

Congratulations! Darn that I won't be able to make the Borderlands event this Sunday (filkcon in Milpitas). Will you have other SF Bay Area readings/signings?
