In addition to the bamboo forest I posted before, the area around Tenryuuji in Arashiyama has some absolutely splendid moss. With the sunlight coming down, it looked utterly like a fairy realm.

Yeah, I have no idea how you would tell that short of people telling you. I have to confess I mostly only even remember the southern hemisphere because I have family in Australia, meaning two of my cousins speak Aussie English. I suspect I sound as differently-accented to them as they do to me...
