Every time I read the title of this post, it parses as "What this plot has been leaking." (Which I guess is more likely now that you have introduced the ectoplasm than before.)

It is indeed more likely now. But mostly it hasn't been leaking anything, except for loose threads that aren't properly tied in, and that's what the ectoplasm is supposed to be a solution for.
