I don't need another fairy-tale retelling with a side order of unspeakable horror. Not when I'm already trying to market three other stories like that.

But even less do I need another fairy-tale retelling with a side order of unspeakable horror that is stubbornly quitting on me two sentences short of the end.

I did some research on Hijo de la luna, btw. (Don't know if that's what you're talking about). The original artist near as I can tell is someone named 'Mecano' -- People refer to it as being their song, but I'm still with you that it sounds traditional.

Just in case you were looking at that avenue.

No, I'm talking about another quasi-Lovecraftian piece, that I thought up over the weekend. Thanks for the research, though.

Damn. Turns out Mecano is a group, one member of which was Jose Maria Cano, who wrote the song. I've asked John Savage, SF/F legal expert extraordinaire, what happens with stories inspired by songs.

Eh... if it comes down to it, you could always lump them all together and market it as a collection... ^_^

I actually hope to someday. The stories tend to be short (I think the longest one has been 1400 words), but if I get a few more of them, and get a few more published (I've sold three already), then I think they would make a nice little chapbook.

Mind you, I have no idea how chapbooks happen. But if I reach the point where I think I'm ready for one, I'll try to find out.

Hm. I have no idea, either... but I wish you luck when that time comes!

And they all died gruesomely ever after.

Here's your ending: "Rocks fall. Everyone dies."

Good luck! :)

Do you happen to know if anyone has actually ever successfully used that one? I'm rather sorely tempted to try it myself... :D

Hmmmm... is a certain story punishing you for not liking it? Or is that the end? The story has a life/spirit of its own.

Oh honey, if you are truly being haunted let me know. I'll bring the black salt. ;)
