If you've read Doppelganger already, then check out the page on my site for Warrior and Witch, newly updated with all kinds of goodies -- including the first chapter of the novel! It's the revised version of what got printed in the back of the first book, and next week (one week from street date!) I'll be adding a section from the second chapter.

If you haven't read Doppelganger already, then please don't follow either of those links, as they lead to spoilers that make Baby Jesus cry. Go read the first book instead.

Wow, I didn't realize the next one was so soon! Will it still help you out if we preorder at Borders/Barnes and Noble?

Pre-order or buy it off the shelf; I'm not sure that matters much.

Bah, I say! With much dismissive hand waving, bah! Such a shmoo book is unworthy of PCP laden baboons!

(all of the above, not at all contradicted by the fack that I read Dopp in, like a day. *grin*)

Oh, you just hit on one of my favorite things to do in books. I love adversaries. Enemies, yes, but mistaken identity, and lying to protect people, and the end of that bit... excellent.

It turns out I'm very bad at writing villains. Antagonists, adversaries, people who have good reasons to be on opposite sides of a conflict, sure -- but not people who are just bad.

I can do bad, but I tend to make them insane or never really go into their motivation. This may be why my villains don't stand up. My best confrontations usually involve protagonists screaming at each other. "I'm gonna kill you!" "But I'm on your side, dammit!" "Wait, what?"
Maybe it's because adversaries tend to survive, whereas enemies don't. So adversaries have to live with the consequences of their behavior. Or because I don't do villainy in my daily life, but I am tempted to a lot of adversariality, even if I do my best to fight it. I won't blow up the engineering building, but I kind of understand why someone would cheat on a test.
