swan_tower: (In Ashes Lie)

I've been so busy this week that it's taken me days to get this link posted, but: a fellow named Marshal Zeringue contacted me a little while ago with what amounts to a one-question interview question, which was, If they make my book into a film, here's who I'd like to play the lead role(s).

I cheated a bit and answered for both Midnight Never Come and In Ashes Lie. Head on over there to see who I have faces for in my head (and who I don't).

(As far as the comet book's concerned -- I don't have a good visual reference for either Galen or Irrith yet. I should try to fix that.)

Invidiana casting

I was suprised to read no choice for Invidiana, though then after thinking about it, found it hard to come up with anyone. The first person that came to mind was 1970's-era Faye Dunaway. Contemporary choices all seemed not quite right, but then I suddenly remembered Isabelle Huppert's performance in The Piano Teacher, and I'd recommend her.

Haven't seen The Piano Teacher. My three basic requirements are 1) tall, 2) Monica Bellucci-level gorgeous, but 3) forbidding instead of lush. It's hard to find all three in one package.

I saw In Ashes Lie in the bookstore today, and almost purchased it... but I still have to finish Midnight Never Come first. ^_^**

It'd be a bit of a type-cast, I suppose, but I always had Tilda Swinton (with black hair) in my mind when I read Invidiana.

Me too! She's pretty good at the whole "inhumanly beautiful and also terrifying" thing.

I love Tilda Swinton a great deal, but she's just a bit too odd-looking to fit right in my head.

Which is not to say other people can't have her in their heads, of course. Just explaining why she isn't my choice -- though I did consider her.
