swan_towerSigh. It's so clear -- now that it's too late -- that I needed two more paragraphs in that novel. One in this scene and one in that scene, to give a particular aspect of the story a bit of the punch it's lacking.
But it's way too late for that.
Oh well. I have finished the page proofs, listening to my soundtrack all the way, and at the very end text and music lined up perfectly, and I sniffled a bit. If I can still be moved at all by this thing, after having read it so very many times, there's hope for it yet.
Even if it is two paragraphs short.
