I don't suppose anyone can work some weather magic and summon up a good thunderstorm for me? Sometime late tonight, or anytime tomorrow?

Anyone?

Bueller?

<sigh>

Feel free to have some of ours! It's been raining nonstop here since June, I think.

Yeah, first you people bitch about droughts; now it's too much rain, eh?

I need thunder and lightning. I need an apocalypse in the sky. Sitting right now in my sunlit office, I cannot conceive of writing one of my upcoming scenes. But there appears to be a bland little rain system utterly stalled out somewhere in the vicinity of, oh, the entire southern US, and it isn't forecast to go anywhere anytime soon. Like, in the next five days.

It's a classic case of "be careful what you wish for." Now we're getting it in spades.

The best suggestion I can think of is to close the windows and crank the Four Seasons "Summer" portion (tracks 18-20) of the Stratos album. If anything can make you think it's storming when it isn't, that will. The music itself is a bit later than the period you're writing, but the mood is probably close.

I might try that, to set the mood. (I have something else to listen to while I write it.)

I'll lend my persuasion, I'm always looking for a good thunderstorm.

I loves me some thunder and lightning.

That's fine by me, so long as a) I've got my electronics unplugged, and b) it happens while I'm at work, because I feel so much more secure in a concrete and limestone building than I do in my second-floor apartment.

Speaking of, though... you should stop on by, the next time we do get one of those End of the World storms, because in my apartment, it really does sound like the end is nigh. (You eget that tree canopy cum Scary Evil Arms Thrashing at You action, wind-tunnel effect if the windows are open, and OMG-the-roof-is-gonna-go-at-any-second cracks and groans.)

Eeeee -- sounds fabulously ominous.

I'll do my best, but they don't make 'em there like they do in Texas.

I'll give it a whirl. No promises, though.

Hurrmmmm... I saw this far too late. IF you still need one, email me. I'll need to know the reason.

Ask the moon, I'm worthless without her aid.

Though frankly, we're far better at moving the clouds away.
