From one perspective, there was an interesting thematic point to be made in Katya not talking to Nayir about stuff, given the extent to which Saudi men and women are discouraged from talking to one another about anything, and the fact that he's simultaneously too repressed to ask her questions and burned by women keeping secrets before -- but I think that thematic element would have been strengthened by letting us get Nayir's point of view. Instead I ended up feeling like, dude, if you're really that incapable of achieving some kind of balance with your future husband, then yeah, you should just walk away from this thing before you're married and can't take it back. Which makes the romantic payoff less satisfying than it could have been, and leaves Nayir looking a little pathetic.
