The day we went to the Louvre, we decided to get dinner in the vicinity and come back after dark to see if we could get any cool night-time shots.

We came back and found the full moon rising over the Louvre. So, um, yes.

I've been enjoying all of your photos, and remiss in not saying so. This one is particularly gorgeous. Did you use a tripod?

I took a photo from inside the pyramid that came out very well. I'd heard many complaints about the pyramid and how it didn't match the rest of the architecture. Well, it doesn't, but it's interesting in its own right.

No, but I wished like hell that I had one. :-P I didn't realize until the night before I left for the trip that my tripod was out on loan to my brother, so I had to play all kinds of technical games with my camera, and/or brace against the nearest fixed object, to try and compensate.

Exactly -- it contrasts with the rest of its surroundings in kind of a cool way.
