1) Not wearing the jacket I've been wearing every day for nearly a month.

2) Not wearing the shoes I've been wearing every day for nearly a month.

3) Not wearing shoes at all for much of the day, if I do not choose to.

4) Sleeping in my own bed.

5) Sleeeeeeeeeeeeping.

6) Going to the dojo and the gym. (There's some discomfort associated with this one, because I basically didn't stretch for a month and also walking = full exercise, but it's still good.)

7) Seeing Thor: The Dark World, to which I said "Needz moar Loki." My husband claims they actually filmed extra Loki scenes after the fact.

8) Seeing how my pictures from the trip turned out. (There are still too many of them.)

9) Working on the third Memoir. I sorted out some fun plot points on the trip, so now I get to make them happen.

10) Seriously, though. NO. SHOES.

Seriously, the shoes thing. I have no idea how people with day jobs can stand it.

When I started going to the gym again, it was very peculiar to me that I had to put on shoes to work out. Isn't a workout something that happens while you're barefoot?

It is at my house. I work out 1.5-2 hours every day, but what I have for shoes for exercise is one pair of Keds I got in high school and one pair of hiking boots for when I am well enough to hike.

Actually, they did go back and film extra Loki scenes. I'm not sure which ones, but they did.

Oh, I believed him. I'm just croggled that they didn't plan from the start to have at least that much Loki.

Whereas for me, I went nearly five years where my exercise was all done at the dojo.

And even before then -- I'm used to dance shoes of various kinds. Most of which only barely qualify as "shoes."

Oh, I know. You'd think they would've understood Tom Hiddleston's - and by proxy, Loki's -popularity with the fans. I think the fandom's still pushing for a Loki movie. I have no idea if this will happen, but I am rooting for it.

I dunno. He's the sort of character that I think might be less interesting if he were the protagonist of a whole story.

7) Aye, it really did need more Loki. Among other things. Which is not to say it is a bad movie, because it's not. But it definitely doesn't have the same emotional impact and punch of the first.

Bah, that's what antiheroes are for.

It's not that so much as, he needs people to play off. One of the great flaws of the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie was that Jack Sparrow moved to the center, rather than ricocheting off Will Turner et al.

Huh. I disagree, but in the direction that I didn't feel the first movie really had all that much emotional impact and punch. I mean, I enjoyed it, but I didn't find it terribly moving.

Well, there's Hela, Leah, his love interest, Thor could easily be there in a more minor role, Ikol, his crow, Thora, his dog, all sentient characters. The comics are ripe with characters for him to play off of. I'd really like to see Loki interacting with Leah, honestly. "You wrote into the myths a romantic moment for he without a heart."

I wasn't precise enough in my phrasing. It isn't so much the presence of people he could play off, as the way in which the narrative approaches their dynamic. Loki at the center is very different from Loki as the untrustworthy character circling around the protagonist like a shark. And the problem is, turning the second type into the first frequently (though not inevitably!) makes them less interesting.

It is by all undisputed that an authoress in possession of shoes must be in search of more opportunities to be barefoot.

Totally agreed. And I say that as a big fan of a lot of his solo comics.
