Oh, Path of Daggers. For the longest time in my memory, this was the WORST book in the series, the one I used to curse about. I think I was just repressing my Crossroads of Twilight trauma, though. When I reread the series last year, I quickly realized my error. Not that PoD is great, or anything. But, man... Crossroads is rough.
What are we supposed to think? There are exciting events going on around Mat, but something's odd with him; clearly, if we aren't getting his pov, there must be a cool reason for it.
The only reason I ever heard Jordan give was that Matt spends Path of Daggers recuperating from his injuries and it would be boring to read about. Which... sure. Except that Jordan was the one who made the decision to injure him in the first place, so the real reason is probably that he was juggling too many balls at that point and decided to take Matt out of the action. *sigh*
