Agreed. If you've had it pointed out to you (as he did with an earlier story) that, hey, you're kind utterly failing to include women, and if you have felt (as he self-reportedly did) that you ought to do better, then maybe you ought to try harder. Like, for example, stepping back and doing a census. Or asking some women to read your draft and tell you what they think. Or both.
