I think that's how I'm starting to feel about a lot of art that makes it to mass market: I understand how someone might have conceived of the story or even rendered it in first draft, but then I don't understand how it got through all the layers of one would think oversight entailed in professional publishing or film/TV production. Or I do understand how it got through, but I don't like the answer.
