I haven't been motivated to read it. Commenters on the original post, though, told me that it's a mixed bag: on the one hand there are some more female characters who do more, but on the other hand there's a supernatural woman who drives men insane, but of course Kvothe is so awesome he gets to bang her without coming to any harm.
