I have not read The Name of the Wind and therefore cannot contribute much to the actual discussion beyond things like "Female Bast sounds cool to me," but this wording gives me a serious case of Irene Adler and as discussed recently and exhaustively with skygiants and genarti, the entire point of that story is not that Holmes thinks she's the most beautiful thing in creation, she's hecking brilliant and he will never cease to respect that.
